Carol Leon Cook

OSWEGO—Carol Leon Cook, 76, died Friday, June 6, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer, at his home in rural Oswego, Kan., with his wife at his side.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, June 13, at the Murdock Funeral Home in Oswego with burial in the Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12. The family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Oswego Fire Department.

Murdock Funeral Home of Oswego is in charge of arrangements.

William E. “Bill” Wass

PARSONS—William E. “Bill” Wass, 81, of Parsons, Kan., died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Labette Health following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, at the First Christian Church in Parsons. Burial was in Harmony Grove Cemetery, rural Dennis.

Memorials are suggested to Alcoholics Anonymous. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.

Aldena Griffith

BARTLETT—Aldena Gwendolyn (Jarman) Griffith, 91, of Bartlett, Kan., died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Oswego Medical Center.
Services were held Monday, June 9, at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla. Interment was at Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oswego Presbyterian Church in care of Thomas Funeral Home.

Services were under the direction of Jim Thomas, Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla.

Glen Richard Newman

COLUMBUS—Glen Richard Newman, 82, of Columbus, Kan., died Friday, June 6, 2008, at the William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Services are pending and will be announced at a later date by the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus.
