The First Baptist Church would like to invite all children to a “Back to School Bash,” Sunday, Aug. 29, beginning
at 2 p.m.
There will be games, bounce houses, snacks and fun for all. Included are the TeamKid program and the “Mighty Messengers, Too“ children’s choir beginning Sunday night, Sept. 5.
The children’s choir (for ages four years old through sixth grade) will begin work on their Christmas program. An adult must accompany a four year old. Choir meets Sunday evenings from 5 to 5:50 p.m. Following choir practice at 6 p.m., the Team-Kid discipleship groups meet. There is a group for three years old through kindergarten and another for first through sixth grade. They have a great time together learning through Bible study and activities.
Everyone is invited.

When Chetopa head football coach Sean Price steps up to the sidelines at the Hornet’s first game, Sept. 3 in Chetopa, it’ll be his first at the helm of an eight-man squad.
He hopes to finish the season on the sidelines of a district championship game, or beyond.

The ground breaking for the new Mae Lessley Community Center was held on Tuesday Night at 8 p.m on July 27 at the Chetopa City Park.
The First Christian Church will be building a 30 x 80 Mae Lessley Community Center. The First Christian Church received a very nice donation from Mae and in return the church is building a community center for everyone to use and enjoy. Read more

Oswego Community Hospital has announced plans for a new medical clinic in Chetopa. The official name will be the Chetopa Community Clinic.It will be located at 429 Maple Street, Chetopa. Read more

A spaghetti dinner and auction fund raiser will be held this Saturday, March 13, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Chetopa Multipurpose Room. Proceeds will go to assist Sam Nading with medical expenses. Included in the meal in addition to spaghetti will be salad, bread and a drink. Read more
