While efforts continue to attract a new business or state entity to the former Labette Correctional Conservation Camps in Oswego, several clarifications were made last week by Tom Bringle, former administrator of the LCCC camps.
“It is unlikely that the facilities will be used in the forceable future as correctional facilities as we knew them,” Bringle said. Read more

The Southeast Kansas Farm History Center will have its third Annual Farm Heritage Celebration at Tolen Creek Park in Parsons. The event is scheduled for Oct. 1-2. The Education Day celebration will be held on Oct. 1. Children of all ages are invited to come out and experience the 1890’s. Read more

OHS Seniors Leighton Smith, escort, and Queen Kim Blackburn, were honored at the OHS football game against Northeast-Arma Vikings last Friday night.
