Lots of entertainment on tap at fair

Fair visitors can enjoy some free musical entertainment and special activities for youth at the Labette County Fair in Oswego. The Cole Family will help kick off Tuesday night activities on July 27 with their special blend of bluegrass music and gospel. They will be onstage at the Larry Allen Family Pavilion starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Cole Family from southern Labette County includes Orin and Retha Cole and sons Brad and Travis along with Kevin and Lynette Cole and their sons Madison and Logan. This entertainment is sponsored by Altamont Builders Supply and Labette County Farm Bureau.
Also, on Tuesday evening youngsters age 8 and under are invited to compete in the Lil Cowpokes Barrel Racing. It will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Livestock Show Arena.  Registration opens at 6 p.m. This event and prize awards is brought to you by employees of Coffeyville Resources Refining and Marketing.
On Wednesday evening, July 28, fair visitors are encouraged to stop by the Larry Allen Family Pavilion to watch the 4-H Awards program and coronation. An added feature this year will be a 4-H Style Revue. These activities begin at 5:30 p.m.
Plans are being made to bring DJ music and karaoke to the fairgrounds on Thursday evening, July 29. This entertainment will be at the Larry Allen Family Pavilion from 8-11 p.m. It is being sponsored by Labette County Farm Bureau.
On Friday afternoon, July 30, youth are invited to participate in a Kiddie Tractor Pull sponsored by the Labette County Fair Association. The contest will begin at 3 p.m.with registration starting at 2 p.m.  At 5 p.m. that evening Labette County Farm Bureau will be serving free root beer floats.
Bring your family and come enjoy these and other special activities happening at the Labette County Fair. Seating is limited at the Larry Allen Family Pavilion. Fairgoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
