The Parsons Chamber of Commerce’s new director, Rhonda Oestreicher (Ace-try-er) will be available to meet and greet residents at a booth set up in the northeast corner of Forest Park this weekend during the Fourth of July celebration. The location will be set up during the musical event being held in Forest Park and the chamber hopes that residents walking from the Seaton Family Pavilion to the fireworks display will stop by to meet the new executive director.
Oestreicher, who was hired recently by the Chamber, said “It is important to reintroduce the Chamber of Commerce, not only to businesses but to the entire community.” She also said that the chamber will reenergize its membership by aggressively promoting itself and its members whenever possible and this meet and greet is part of that effort.
The Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the annual Parsons Fireworks display which is sponsored this year by Sonny and Sophia Zetmeir and Powerflame. According to Chamber President and Parsons City Clerk, Debbie Lamb, Oestreicher was the choice of a search committee that was comprised of several members of the chambers executive and standing boards.
