An equipment accident was the topic of discussion at the county commissioners and road and bridge supervisor Sandy Krider at Monday’s meeting.
A 2005 John Deere tractor/mower was totally destroyed when an electrical alternator caught fire. It was totally engulfed the machine last Wednesday at 22000 and Ford.
The two commissioners, Brian Kinzie and Lonie Addis approved for Krider to put bids out for two tractor/mower units after the insurance compensates for the loss. Commissioner Jack Martin was absent from the meeting. The county has one to trade in. Road and bridge have the funds in their equipment fund for the purchase. Also in attendance from the road and bridge department were Calvin Mathis and Ralph George.
IN OTHER ACTION taken at Monday’s meeting:
• Clint Hurt, court administrator and Terri Thurman, clerk of the court, presented their budget proposal for 2011. “For the third year, they are proposing to operate the court system at the approved 2009 and 2010 budget levels totaling $243,100, even though some operational expenses will surely increase in 2011,” Hurt said.
