
Keith Ballantyne, general manager of The Murdock Funeral Home of Oswego announces that Jolene Gaier, Oswego, will be working for the funeral home as a director in Oswego.
Ballantyne believes that Jolene will be a good fit to Oswego having already been active in the community. Keith and Jolene will work together to continue the service.
David Brandt is an assistant to the funeral director for Murdock and lives in Oswego.
Jolene was born and raised in McCune and is the daughter of Steve Mosler and Lana (Marchbanks) Surridge. Her husband is Ralph Gaier.
Jolene is a graduate of Labette Community College and has a degree from PSU. She taught computer and chemistry during the 1985-86 school year at Oswego High School. Jolene also worked as a science specialist for eight years at the LCC Learning Center.
Jolene graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma-Edmond in 2001. She worked nine months in Wichita before going to Cooper-Althouse in Miami from March 2002 until November 2007. Then she worked at Worley-Lugenbuel in Grove from January 2008 until September 2009. She is licensed in both Kansas and Oklahoma as funeral director and embalmer.
Already, Jolene is active in the Oswego community. She is a member of the Oswego Lions Club and is currently secretary. She has been on the Board of Directors of the Oswego Historical Society for over 15 years and is currently secretary. She is a member of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Oswego United Methodist Church.
As early as 1994, it was her dream to be a funeral director. In her words, “I am thrilled to realize my long-time dream.”
