The following dates for area school baccalaureates are:
Chetopa High School - Sunday, May 16, at 3 p.m. in the new gym. Clarence Newman will be the keynote speaker and Alan Paxton will provide the music.
LCHS - Sunday, May 16, 7 p.m. in Harrison Auditorium - Speaker Mark Cahill.
Oswego High School - Wednesday, May 12, at 7 p.m. in the Oswego High School Commons Area. David Hindman will be the keynote speaker and the students will participate. Each student will receive a Bible and a special prize drawing will be held for an i tunes gift card.
Welch High School - Wednesday, May 19, at 7 p.m. in the Wildcat Gym.

To celebrate this year’s Arbor Day, Bill Cunningham, tree board chairperson,and Lisa Hawkins, member of the Oswego Tree Board, planted a Pine Oak last Friday in Riverside Park. Arbor Day is an excellent opportunity to take stock of the trees on your property and plan for the future. Other members on the tree board include Chris Brown, Laura Cunningham and Lee McCulley.
