Labette Avenue has selected two winners from our recent fine the Easter Egg contest.
Peggy Ybarra of Altamont won the adult Easter basket and Tayton Hazell of Oswego won the children’s Easter basket. The baskets can be picked up anytime at the Labette Avenue office on Thursday, April 1.

These are members of the Labette County 4-H horticulture judging teams. They  went to the Wichita Garden Show in early March and did well according to Julie Traxson, 4-H Program Assistant.

Coffeyville Community College (CCC) team ropers, Levi Wilson of South Coffeyville, Okla. and Gable Hilderbrand of Bartlett, took fifth in the long go and then won the short round and the average in the team roping event at the Fort Scott rodeo. 

They won the event with the fastest time of the rodeo with a 5.4 second run. The team ropers are currently sitting seventh in the Central Plains Region.
Katie Campbell of Nowata, Okla., also did well at the Fort Scott rodeo as she took third in the long go and second in the short as well as second in the average in barrel racing.
The CCC men’s team is currently sitting fifth in the region and the women are third. The next rodeo is in Guymon, Okla. on April 1-3.
