Schmoker brothers hold common interest in soccer

Not only are the Schmoker boys close brothers but they also have soccer skills in common. All four boys excel in the sport of soccer.
Jake, who is 23, attended Oral Roberts University for three years and is now in his senior year at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. For the last two summers, he has played semi pro soccer. Two summers ago he played for the Denver Rapids. Last summer he played for the Iowa Menace in Des Moines, Iowa. He has tried out for a pro-team position for the United Soccer League in South Carolina. He will also have a private try out for a professional team in Minnesota in March.
Zachary, 21, attends Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Okla. He is considering a semi-pro position in Springfield, Mo.
The twins, Adam and Jordan, who are 16 and will be 17 in May, attend high school in Catoosa, Okla. During the Christmas holiday, 240 young men were invited to play in a tournament in Florida among which were Adam and Jordan Schmoker. Out of those 240, 40 were chosen to go to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Adam and Jordan leave Tulsa on Feb. 23 to fly to Miami, Fla. to meet with the team and coach.
On Thursday, Feb. 25, the team of 40 will leave for Brazil. While there, they will see a pro game of the United Soccer league and play three games in a tournament themselves. They will return to Tulsa on March 5.
All four boys are the sons of Sid and Angie Schmoker. They are the grandsons of Lavern and Rita Townsend, Rita Schmoker and David and Carolyn Edwards, all of Oswego.
