Vernon Sandusky, Edna, will be inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame 2010 on March 6 in Lawrence at Liberty Hall. This is an individual induction. Last year, he was inducted as part of a group called the Poe-Kats.
He got started in music when he was only 16 years old. He had been a singer since a small child. He graduated from Labette County High School in 1956 and went to Coffeyville College. He started playing his guitar and singing with Bobby Poe and the Poe-Kats. Read more

Labette County High School (LCHS) is having a military night at the LCHS vs Columbus basketball game on Friday, Feb. 19. Veterans get in free if in uniform or with proof of service.
Spectators and students are encouraged to wear military camo or shirts that support any of our military branches.
The JV Girls and Boys game is at 4:30 p.m. The varsity girls and freshman boys play at 6 p.m. and Varsity boys and freshman girls play at 8 p.m. Adult tickets are $4 and students are $3.

The Oswego High School Fine Arts Night will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11. The OHS music, art, and drama departments will hold a Fine Arts Night in the high school commons area.
The choral section of the fine arts performance will, in keeping with the theme most prevalent in mid February, centering around five songs about love and relationships. They will range in style from contemporary tunes such as “Stand By Me” and Journey’s “Open Arms” to the classic Gershwin tune “Someone to Watch Over Me” which features two of our students as soloists.
