Clara M. Nichols
OSWEGO—Clara M. Nichols, 94, of Oswego, Kan., died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Grace Living Center Jenks, Okla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at Murdock Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Heflin, Labette Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oswego Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Online condolences may be left at murdockfuneralhomes.com.

Clara was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Choctaw, Okla., the daughter of Clyde and Minnie (White) Lewellen.
On Nov. 30, 1936, she married Ralph H. Nichols. He preceded her in death.
Clara moved to Oswego in 1945, where she made her home until 2007. Due to health problems, she moved to Tulsa, Okla., to live with her daughter. In 2008, her health necessitated a move to Grace Living Center in Jenks. She was retired from the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kan.
Clara was famous for her wonderful cooking, especially chicken and noodles and her delicious pecan pie. She always had a big garden and loved to pick up pecans. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her grandsons, Ralph Bilyeu and wife Brandi, Orlando, Fla.; Brett Bilyeu and wife Janet, Tulsa, Okla.; two great-granddaughters, Bryne and Kayla; two sisters, Dollie Henson, Choctaw, Okla.; and Lavern Tracy, Tulsa; a brother-in-law, Bud Tracy, Tulsa; and a sister-in-law, Norma Lewellen, Oswego; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of long-time friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Bilyeu; and her son-in-law, Oscar Bilyeu; a sister, Leota Henson; and a brother, Albert Lewellen.
Ruth E. Hornback
PARSONS—Ruth E. Hornback, 95, longtime Parsons, Kan., resident, and former Labette County Register of Deeds, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at the Cherryvale Care Center in Cherryvale.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

PARSONS—Mildred Brooks, 89, of Parsons, Kan., died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor. She had been in failing health the past few weeks.

Cleora “Maxine” Womack
OSWEGO—Cleora “Maxine” Womack, 90, of Oswego, Kan., and currently a resident of Chetopa Manor, Chetopa, Kan., passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Miami, Okla. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Cemetery, Miami. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the church.
