Erica Kabrey of Chetopa FFA traveled to the American Royal in Kansas City, Mo., on Oct. 27, to show Erica’s calf scramble steer.
Kabrey’s steer placed third, which was one placing shy of making the sale. She needed to be in the top two to be eligible. She barely missed getting in the sale.
Kabrey went on to win the American Royal Buckle for the Best Decorated Stall. She was able to do this with the help and handy work of her dad Kent Kabrey and her FFA Advisor Jim Nave.
She also placed in the top three of the American Royal Calf Scramble Interview and was interviewed on the local Kansas City TV Channel to promote the 2009 calf scramble.
