ed the low bid of $258,367 for three dump trucks for the Road and Bridge Department at the Nov. 23, county commission meeting.
Cameron Lawrence, representing Joplin Freightliner of Joplin, Mo., was in attendance. Others attending the bid opening were Mark Perith of Diamond International, Joplin, Mo., and Dustin Sneed of Mack Trucks, Joplin. Peterbilt of Joplin was the other bidder.
The trucks will take 90 to 120 days to arrive.
Also approved at the Nov. 23 meeting, was to continue the insurance policy with Great West Healthcare. Philip Blair, agent, told the commissioners that this policy can be cancelled at any time.
At Monday’s, Nov. 30 meeting, the commissioners declared the three dump trucks that will be traded in as surplus property. Sandy Krider, superintendent of the Road and Bridge Dept., said bid letters have gone out to all area financial institutions. An update will be given at the next meeting, Dec. 7.
