County prepares for snow season

Labette County Commissioners approved the Sheriff’s Department to purchase a blade for a utility vehicle for snow removal at their department and the sidewalks at the courthouse in Oswego, at Monday’s meeting. County Emergency Coordinator Jim Cook told the commissioners that he received only one snow removal bid for the Parsons court facilities.
An advertisement has been posted
in area newspapers. The Road and
Bridge Dept. will clean off the courthouse
parking lot and maintenance
will be responsible for the steps and
landings at the courthouse and sheriff’s
offi ce. Cook will have more information
at the next meeting, Nov. 30.
IN OTHER ACTION ON MONDAY:
• Approved service contract from
McCarty’s Offi ce Machines for copier
in the Appraiser’s Department, same
as last year $416.
• Signed turkey vouchers for
county employees Thanksgiving bonus.
• Tabled the four bids for Road
and Bridge Dept. on the purchase of
three dump trucks, upon reviewing.
• County Counselor Fred Johnson
read response letter from attorney
concerning Jason Piercefi eld.
