The Oswego Indians football team will travel to Sedan this Friday night, Oct. 23, for a 7 p.m. district game.
The Indians are undefeated this season and they have high hopes for a state berth.
Coach Andy Fewin is urging all Indian fans to attend the Sedan game and “turn their stands into a sea of red.”

The annual Title I Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting of USD 506 will be held in the cafeteria at Labette County High School on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m.
The public is invited to attend as well as all parents in the 506 district. This meeting will focus on the importance of the school/parent relationship in the education of children. It also provides an opportunity to meet the PAC Council and the Title I staff. Read more

Labette County Commissioners heard comments from property owners at a Sewer District No. 1 public hearing at Monday’s regular meeting.
Richard and Sandra Babcock, Parsons, were allowed one water tap on one of the three tracts of property located in Sewer District No. 1. The other two parcels are landlocked, so commissioners approved the Babcock’s proposal. Read more

On Oct. 17, during the Balloons Bikes Blues & Barbeque Festival, the Parsons Chamber of Commerce hosted a Benefit Bike Run for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Labette County. Nearly 30 bikes participated in the event. Participants were introduced to a new kind of Bike Run that included ‘Bonus’ stops where each participant was invited to play games such as croquet and bowling in order to acquire more prize drawing chances.
