Margaret Burian

HAYS—Margaret Burian, 84, of Hays, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in Germany.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary with Pastor Becky Saddler officiating. Inurnment was in the Bohemian Cemetery in Rural Smith County. Memorial contributions are suggested to Prairie Haven Nursing Center and can be sent in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements were handled by the Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary of Smith Center, Kan.

Margaret was the daughter of Josef and Frida (Kahla) Seiler, born, Sept. 5, 1924, in Poland. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four daughters, Brigitte Felder, Chetopa; Becky Fulmer, Casper, Wyo.; Colly Burian, McPherson; and Sonja Hensel, Florida; a brother, Albert Seiler, Australia; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and a son, Travis.

Orpha Muzetta Boegel

PARSONS—Orpha Muzetta Boegel, 94, of Parsons, Kan., and formerly of Fair Grove and Springfield, Mo., died at 11:10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons.

A visitation, with family receiving friends, will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons.

Graveside Committal Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Fair Grove, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to either the Wesley United Methodist Church or the Center Bethel Church Building Fund. They may be left at or sent to the funeral home at Box 942, Parsons, KS  67357.

Orpha was born Oct. 10, 1914 in Osceola, Mo., to Oliver and Orpha (Poole) Brown. On Jan. 16, 1936, she married John Raymond “Pick” Boegel in Springfield. They moved to Parsons in 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1978.

Mrs. Boegel was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons and  was a member of the former Mother’s Study Club of Parsons.

Survivors include one son, J. R. Boegel and wife Nancy, Altamont; one daughter, Suzanne Macias and husband George, Kansas City, Mo.; one granddaughter, Tish Daniels and husband Roger, Altamont; one grandson, Doug Macias and wife Brenna, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Josh, Kelsey and Will Daniels and Cade Randal Macias; and one brother, Oliver Brown Escondido, California.

Preceding her in death were four sisters, Margaret, Eleanor, Esther and Edith; one brother, William Brown; and a grandson, Randy Macias.

Orpha was loved by so many people throughout her lifetime. Anyone who ever knew her will miss her beautiful smile and welcoming heart. Her love of music, art, writing and handiwork was shared by all. All loved her so very much and stand on our faith that we will all be together again.

Eugenia B. “Jeanie” LaForge

PARSONS—Eugenia B. “Jeanie” LaForge, 83, of Parsons, Kan., died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends immediately following in the parish hall.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, 67357.

Robert E. “Bob” Donaldson

PARSONS—Robert E. “Bob” Donaldson, 84, of Parsons, Kan., died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at his home in Parsons. He had been in failing health.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Following the visitation, the body will be cremated. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to the Robert Donaldson Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, 67357.

Jack Leonard York

PARSONS—Jack Leonard York, 85, former Parsons, Kan., resident died Monday,  Sept. 28, 2009, at Custer Regional Hospital in Custer, SD.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2, at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Michael Linthicum. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Parsons Animal Welfare Society and may be mailed or left at the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.

Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Parsons is in charge of arrangements.

Viola Werner Johnson

PARSONS—Viola Werner Johnson, 83, of Parsons, Kan., died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Labette Health.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, 67357.
