Debbi Baugher, Labette County Health Department Administrator, told the Labette County Commissioners at Monday’s meeting that she is expecting to receive news soon about H1N1 influenza funding in the amount of $10,300 for the first of three phases.
The state is still estimating mid-October for the first shipment of H1N1 vaccine to be shipped to the state of Kansas, and Labette County will get a small share of that shipment, Baugher said. Top priority will be given to young children and mothers who are pregnant, and anyone who has children or takes care of children.
Special priority will be given to care givers who must be in contact with those afflicted with the H1N1 influenza.
