Tom Macaronas and Brock Sutherland of Labette Health in Parsons gave the Labette County Commissioners an update on their recent construction projects on the campus during Monday’s commission meeting.
The next step, Macaronas said, upon hospital board approval, is to is to renovate the 1996 rehabilitation facility for the medical office building conference center, when the Center of Rehabilitation Excellence (The CORE) is completed. The hospital board will meet this Thursday.
IN OTHER ACTION at Monday’s meeting:
• Signed a resolution on a clerical error on a Mound Valley property that readjusted their 2007 taxes.
• Approved a cereal malt beverage application for Rexwinkle Smokehouse and Bar in Edna.
• Sandy Krider of the Road and Bridge Department said county crews were completing the cleaning up efforts following the storm held last Thursday in the county.
Approved tire bids for the Road and Bridge Dept. as follows:
• Cross Midwest Tire, Pittsburg, for eight 315-80-R22.5 tires at $397.50 each, for a total cost of $3,180.
• Cross Midwest Tire, Pittsburg, for 12 - 1100R-22.5 tires at $300 each, total cost $3,600; Purcell, Springfield, 12 tires, same size at $252.50 each, total cost, $3,030. Calvin Mathis of the Road and Bridge Dept. wants to check the mileage and compared the two brands of tires. The tires from Purcell are Han Kook and the other tires from Cross Midwest are Yokohama’s.
• Cross Midwest Tire of Pittsburg for 12 17-5-R25 grader tires at $942.10 each for a total cost of $11,317.20.
• Approved accounts payable.
• Approved the Aug. 17 minutes as corrected.
The next meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 31, at 9 a.m.
