Janice Johnson

SHAWNEE––Janice Johnson, 69, of Shawnee, Kan., passed away Saturday, May 25, 2008 in Parsons, Kan.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2008, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Graveside services will be 12 noon, Saturday, May 31, at the Oswego Cemetery, Oswego. The family suggests contributions to Morse Church Special Funds, 15431 Quivira, Overland Park, KS. 66221. Janice was born in Oswego and had lived in the Kansas City area for the last 50 years. Janice was a very loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She gave without expecting anything in return. She was Treasurer of the local chapter of the Kansas Association for Family and Community Education.
She married Vernon Johnson on June 7, 1958 in Oswego.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon; a daughter, Debra Simmons and her husband, Adam, of Olathe; a son, Alan Johnson and his wife, Lea, of Overland Park; and four grandsons, Grant and Alex Simmons and Neil and Aidan Johnson.

Elfredia Lamar Fisher

OSWEGO—Elfredia Lamar Fisher, 82, of Oswego, Kan., died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at her home. Her service will be held Saturday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at the Murdock Funeral Home, Oswego, with Pastor Paul Wiand officiating. Burial will be in the Oswego Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. at the Murdock Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Rose Marie Cook Greenwood

TULSA––Rose Marie Cook Greenwood, 86, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Tulsa, Okla.
A memorial service was held in her honor on Monday, May 26,2008 at 11 a.m. in the Moore’s Eastlawn Chapel in Tulsa. Okla.
Mrs. Greenwood was born on February 11, 1922, in Tulsa to Harry D. and Elizabeth J. Cook. She was the granddaughter of the distinguished Col. J.B. and Rose Dorland Cook. She attended Chetopa, schools in the early thirties and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chetopa at that time. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Tulsa, Okla. in January of 1981 after 34 years of service. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneer Life Member Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra A. Affholder and husband Jimmie; grandson, Harry Curtis Prideaux and great-grandson, Ryan; and one sister, Norma Jean Bevins.
Jerahmia Lee McDonald

WELCH, Okla. — Jerahmia Lee McDonald, 24, a CNA, passed away in a car accident near Chetopa on Friday, May 23, 2008. He formerly lived in Oswego, Kan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Community Church, Baxter Springs, Kan. Burial will be in Lone Elm Cemetery, Columbus, Kan.
Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs.

Peggy J. Tyler

CHETOPA–– Peggy J. Tyler, 68, of Chetopa, Kan., at the Chetopa Manor.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla. Interment will be in the Welch City Cemetery, Welch, Okla.

Services are under the direction of the Thomas Funeral Home of Welch.
