The 2008 Elk River Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Elk County Courthouse Square in Howard. The event is sponsored by the Howard Chamber Of Commerce.

This year’s activities will celebrate the completion of the Jackson Park Memorial Walking Trail. The fundraising activities for the park began at last year’s festival .

Thanks to the efforts of many people in Elk County and beyond the walking trail is well underway to becoming a reality.

During the festival, food, games and entertainment will be going on all day and night. The Country Heartbeats will be performing, too.

Festival organizers are calling for the talented people of area counties and surrounding states to come and show their arts and crafts. There is no entry fee.
