ECCA to host two programs for county senior citizens
The Elk County Council on Aging will sponsor two programs funded by the Older Americans Act Title IIIE-Caregivers during the month of August.
One program, “Personal and Home Security,” will help attendees determine home safety, outdoor safety procedures, and being aware of your environment. This program will be held at the Moline Community Building on Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. Moline Friendship Meals will provide lunch. Call 24 hours in advance to 620-647-8178 if you would like to eat at the center after the program.
The second program, “Caregiver 101,” is intended to provide information about being a caregiver, requirements of the caregiver program, and preventing caregiver burn-out. This program will be held at the Grenola Senior Center on Aug. 20 at 11:30 a.m. Grenola Friendship Meals will provide lunch. Call 24 hours in advance to 620-358-3601 if you would like to eat at the center after the program.
Both programs are open to the public and door prize drawings will be held. Both buildings are handicap accessible.
