Ice cream social to be held for local woman

The Grenola Chapter of Royal Neighbors of America is planning an ice cream social as a matching fundraiser for Velma Conklin, who has multiple sclerosis, to help with her medical bills.  Homemade ice cream and cake will be served in the Grenola City Park on Saturday, June 21, starting at 3 p.m.  Bad weather will change plans to serve at the Grenola Senior Center.

RNA national headquarters will match all donations received.  If you would like to donate but cannot attend, you may send your donation to:  Peggy Wolfe, Treasurer, Box 54, Grenola, KS, 67346.  Make checks payable to Grenola Kirby Chapter 5805.
Royal Neighbors of America is a fraternal benefit society headquartered in Rock Island, Ill.  It was chartered in 1895 by a group of visionary women who were dedicated to offering insurance and volunteer activities.  Today it has more than 200,000 members and $2 billion of insurance in force with approximately 600 active chapters across the nation.
A “chapter” is the local gathering of RNA members that meets on a regular basis for activities and to organize service projects.

As one of the nation’s leading fraternal benefit societies, RNA provides a range of insurance products and annutities, as well as a comprehensive college scholarship, and disaster relief program.
