KHP will conduct checkpoint in Elk County
The Kansas Highway Patrol and the Elk County Sheriff’s Department are planning to conduct a Drivers License Checkpoint this weekend, May 24, in Elk County.
A Drivers License Checkpoint intended to remove non-valid drivers will be set up in Elk County. “The purpose of these checkpoints,” according to a Highway Patrol spokesperson, “is not to harass motorists, but to decrease non-valid drivers through awareness and enforcement.”
The goal of this checkpoint is to encourage compliance with the driver’s license related statutes of this state, by removing the drivers that are non-valid.
“We appreciate the patience and cooperation from all citizens with the checkpoint,” said Lt. Bryon Newton of the Kansas Highway Patrol.
