Candidate filing deadline nears
The last day for candidates to file for the upcoming Aug. 5 Primary is noon on June 10.
Positions up for election in Elk County include District II Commissioner, District III Commissioner, County Attorney, County Clerk, County Treasurer, Sheriff, Register of Deeds, Township Trustees, Township Treasurers and Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen.
Township Trustees and Treasurers are necessary for those Townships that budget. Filing fee is $1.
Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen are needed in all precincts and there is no filing fee.
Filing forms may be obtained at the County Clerks Office in the Courthouse.
