Moline UMW to host spring tea
The Moline United Methodist Women will present, “Miss Emily-Love Is Like A Virus,” at the United Methodist Church in Moline on Monday, May 5 at 2 p.m. The humorous portrayal by Cindy Powell of Coffeyville, will be held in conjunction with their annual spring tea. Refreshments will follow in the basement reception hall. The public is invited to attend.
“Miss Emily” is humorously portrayed by Cindy Powell of Coffeyville. She has been doing this monolog for a number of years, as well as having a music ministry since 2002. “Miss Emily” talks about growing up, the great depression, family, and the ‘battle of the bulge’, most of which we can all relate to.
She will sing a song titled “Every time”, which is dedicated to her mother, who passed away last year. The second song will be “His Eye is on the Sparrow”, dedicated to all victims of the terrible flooding in 2007 in her home town and around.
The public is welcome to attend and stay for refreshments afterwards in the church basement.
