Howard Lions Club to host fishing clinic/contest
The Howard Area Lions Club along with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, will host a free fishing clinic on Saturday, June 14 from 9-10 a.m. at Polk Daniels Lake in Howard. The clinic is for children ages 5-12. KDWP will supply the rods and bait, however entrants may bring their own equipment if they wish. Fishing techniques, handling catch, and other fishing subjects will be taught.
Following the clinic there will be a fishing contest for kids as well. Entry is $1 per child and includes food and drinks. Bring your own rod for the contest. For registration or information call 620-374-2720.
The Howard Area Lions Club will also conduct a raffle for a 10-foot fishing boat with electric trolling motor. Tickets will be available for $5 each or three for $10 from any Lions Club member. The drawing will be held during the afternoon of July 4, just in time for the Fourth of July weekend. Tickets will go on sale the first week of June.
