Cherryvale citywide clean-up to be held April 28-May 2
The City of Cherryvale’s trash provider, Allied Waste, will be conducting a citywide spring clean-up campaign from Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2.
Any unwanted materials, such as old furniture and appliances, can be placed next to where your regular trash is picked up, either curbside or alley.
However, because Allied Waste has only one person manning the trash truck, only those items that can be hauled away by one person will be accepted. Items that require multiple people to remove will not be accepted.
There are some restrictions to the items that can be accepted. Hazardous wastes and free-flowing liquids will not be accepted as will items containing Freon gas.
Broken glass must be placed in boxes, and limbs and wood that exceed four feet in length will also not be accepted.
The citywide campaign is for residential customers only; commercial businesses cannot participate.
The citywide clean-up campaign will cover each of the following sections of town during the week:
• Monday, April 28: All residential areas west of the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad tracks and south of West Main Street.
• Tuesday, April 29: All areas west of the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad tracks and north of West Main Street.
• Wednesday, April 30: All areas east of the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad tracks and south of East Main Street.
• Thursday, May 1: All areas east of the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad tracks and north of East Main Street.
On Friday, May 2, Allied Waste will pick up any customers’ items that were missed or did not have their items out in time. Customers must call City Hall at 336-2776 by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 1, to have items picked up on Friday, May 2.
