It is almost time for the 13th annual Spring Fling in Cedar Vale and the committee has been busy preparing for this three day event which will be held Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27.

This year’s festivities will kick off the weekend with the women’s ranch rodeo on Friday night starting at 7 p.m. Following will be a dance featuring a band from the Arkansas City area called “The Howlerz”.

On Saturday, April 26, the day stars off early with city wide garage sales and the cook-off starts by setting up by 8 a.m. The car show starts at 10 a.m.

The After Prom Committee will be hosting activities for kids of all ages including a rock climbing wall, slide, moon walk and Velcro wall. They will also be providing refreshments and kiddie games. This will start at approximately 10 a.m. and run all day.

The men’s ranch rodeo will be that afternoon along with horse shoe pitching and other vendors and crafters. The Winfield Country Round-up Bus has been asked to join during the men’s ranch rodeo to give away prizes and tickets. The BBQ dinner will be at 5 p.m.

This year’s Saturday night dance will feature a rockabilly band out of Oklahoma City, “Brian Dunning and the Rock ‘N Roll Trio.”

Sunday finishes out the day with a junior rodeo at the rodeo grounds starting at 1 p.m. and lawnmower pulls in the demo pit starting at 1 p.m. Schedule of event books and poster should be out in the community soon if you need more information.
