Red Bud Tour will be this weekend
It is that time of the year for the annual RedBud Tour of Chautauqua County. The RedBud trees never fail to bud out just at the right time to welcome spring time in Chautauqua County.
The official RedBud information booth will be at their usual spot at Floyd’s parking lot on East Main Street downtown Historic Sedan on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13. You can stop by the booth and receive a self-guided tour map, a free RedBud seedling tree, and information of the best tour routes of the area, and a map, from chairman Ed Morton or one of his volunteers.
Some of those routes would be North to Quivira Scout Ranch, South through Chautauqua and visit the Springs, on to Elgin and the river bottom area, and West to Cedar Vale. On all these routes the scenery is spectacular with or without RedBud trees. Thanks to the private owners of The Three Barns and Butcher Falls, RedBud visitors are welcome to tour those areas also.
Before leaving Sedan there are several streets which showcase many RedBud trees, such as north Montgomery and north Chautauqua Streets. You might want to check out our many tourist attractions, like the Hollow Garden, Kurtis Arts Plaza, Emmett Kelly Museum, Yellow Brick Road, also gift shops, an ice cream shoppe, a coffee bar, antique shops, hunting shop, art galleries and if you get hungry, don’t forget we have six restaurants.
